Walk and Talk Therapy
Walk and Talk Therapy is the same as your typical office session, but you and your therapist go outside (walking along our local path and/or a nearby enclosed neighborhood circle).
There are benches and ponds and very few passersby.
Walk and Talk Therapy can be beneficial for a wide range of mental health concerns. Here are some of the conditions that can benefit from it:
-
- Anxiety disorders: Many people with anxiety find that walking in nature can help to reduce their symptoms.
- Depression: Walking in nature can be an effective way to combat depression. Walking releases endorphins, which can improve mood and provide a sense of well-being.
- Stress: Stress is a common problem for many people and can lead to a range of physical and mental health problems. Walking in nature can help to reduce stress by providing a sense of calm and relaxation
- PTSD: Being in nature can help to provide a sense of calm and safety, which can be especially important for those with PTSD.
Please talk to your therapist to see if Walk and Talk Therapy is right for you.
